Seasons when the Boilermakers have been .500 or better during their 127 years of foot- ball. Purdue is looking to reverse a recent trend, when just one season in its last seven have had a record of at least .500. Respondents in a recent Purdue Master Plan Development Sur- vey that was e-mailed to fans in early June. Artist renderings of the south end zone project, like this one above, were included. Games Purdue has faced an opponent named "Tech" in foot- ball prior to the Sept. 19 game with Coach Frank Beamer's Virginia Tech Hokies. Purdue was 5-1 against Car- negie Tech in games played in the 1930s and 1-0 against Georgia Tech, thanks to a romp in the '78 Peach Bowl. Consecutive seasons the Boilermakers will have a different starter at quarterback in Week 1 from the season previous.
