During practices, he'd be quick to demonstrate tech- niques. Slowly, he saw that sacrificial time spent pay big rewards. King recalled a time in practice last season when he spotted a blitz before Kugler and called it out. After practice, King joked Kugler was "beside himself" talking about King's revelation. In reality for Kugler, it was a proud moment. Though he's hesi- tant to use that actual word to de- scribe when a teammate "gets it" because, well, guys like King and Jordan Roos are good friends who are practically the same age. Still, "it definitely feels good," Kugler said. Perhaps those type of moments would seem less frequent now with King, Roos, Cameron Cermin and J.J. Prince, Kugler's potential start- ing linemates, being juniors who have started. But Kugler won't stop sharing his extensive knowledge. Or be hesitant to explain when maybe others aren't quick to pick up what he's dropping. "I think he already knows more than all of us on the field, but he's constantly trying to learn more," King said. "He comes from football, but he's constantly trying to figure more out, learn more. I see him bounce ideas back and forth with the coaches.
