There are three ways to pay: Use convenient kiosks to pay for parking 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. year-round including weekends and holidays (Have time left on your parking meter? You can use it anywhere on the island.); download the ParkTYB app on your smartphone to pay quickly and securely (You can add additional time without returning to your car.); and annual parking decals can be purchased at Tybee Island Parking Services, 1509 Strand Ave. Contact the Tybee Island Parking Services Division at 912.472.5101 or email parking@ cityoftybee.org. BIKING: In Savannah: With its flat terrain and multiple bike lanes, Savan- nah has been named a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Commu- nity by the League of American Bicyclists. Rent a bike from Sekka Inc. on Bull Street or Savannah On Wheels on Hall Street and explore downtown in style or take a tour with Outside Savannah or Savannah Bike Tours to have a guided adventure on two wheels. On Tybee Island: With less than three miles between the north and south ends of Tybee Island and bike paths stretching from Bay Street to Chatham Avenue, cycling is a great way to sightsee at your own pace. Convenient bike racks are located along the way! TIMS Bikes, Beach Gear & Disc Golf has cruisers available to rent for every pedaler, including tandem bikes, adult tricycles and pull-behind child carriers. Or, take advantage of free delivery and pickup services for beach cruisers from Tybee Island Bike Rentals. BUS: The DOT provides free, convenient passenger service to many hotels, historic sites and restaurants throughout downtown Savan- nah. The express shuttle serves numerous stops, typically every 10 minutes or less. Chatham Area Transit (CAT) offers bus routes through-out Savannah and Chatham County. Fare for local one-way service is $1.50, and discounted weekly and monthly passes are available. CAT Also offers the 100x Airport Express for daily service from the Savannah/ Hilton Head International Airport to the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Inter- modal Transit Center with stops at designated downtown hotels. FERRY: The free Savannah Belles Ferry connects River Street with Hutchinson Island, site of the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa and the Savan- nah Convention Center. Check connectonthedot.com for route schedule information. GOLF CART: On Tybee Island, make a reser- vation for a gas or electric cart through Coast to Coast Beach Rentals. Tybee Beach Bus offers a Golf Cart Day at the Beach, which includes round-trip transportation, towels, cooler with ice and a 6-hour golf cart rental. Motorized carts are not allowed to operate on US Hwy. 80 and may only cross at designat- ed streets. Brush up on the island's golf cart rules at cityoftybee.org. OTHER TRANSPORTATION: Various taxis, Lyft (lyft.com), Uber (uber.com), Downtowner (ridedowntowner.com), horse- drawn carriages, trolley and boat tours and pedicabs are available. Tybee Turtle Transit offers $5-per-person ride anywhere on Tybee Island (9 a.m. - 3:30 a.m.). Plus they offer designated driving, food delivery, wedding transporta- tion and Tybee tours. ACCESSIBILITY In Savannah: Even though Savannah is a historical city, there are plenty of places disabled peo- ple can visit. Many locations can accommodate differently abled guests so they can share the same experience as others. Visit VisitSavannah.com/info/ savannah-wheelchair-accessible for more information. On Tybee Island: Beach-friendly wheelchairs with big tires are available to check out for free (first-come, first-served) at the Ocean Rescue Headquarters lifeguard station, located behind the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion. In addition, crossovers at North Beach Mid-Lot, Second Avenue and 16th Street have Mobi-Mats, which create a hard pathway to enable wheelchairs to get closer to the ocean.
