After Lonerism and Innerspeaker, once again Parker's words perfectly describe his intentions. The album fuses several genres and we can easily recognise Tame Impala's signature thanks to dreamy vocals and breathtaking melodies. Like in all Tame Impala's discography, most of these tracks follows a definite path. Through songs as 'Yes I'm Changing', 'Eventually' or 'Let It Happen', Tame Impala are able to communicate even more directly the message of withdrawal from the world. The open-ended psychedelia reminds us of Daft Punk's vibes, the mix of disco, dance and pop on Random Access Memories. Moreover, lyrically the album lives up to the expectations and it is a convincing continuation of Parker's introspective delve into his psyche, with a particular focus on change and relationships. Currents is one of the best pop records in a long time. This is the direction Parker has been heading towards with the two previous records. It's not perfect, but it's something you want to listen over and over again. ALbum of thE moNth tAmE ImpALA - CuRRENtS The Australian psychedelic rock group have released their third studio album Consisting of Luke Duffett (lead vocals and guitar), Jamie Maurice (bass and backing vocals) and Ciaran Forth (drums), the band formed in early 2014, and after months of sweaty sessions in Ciaran's shed, they have been on the road ever since. Swoons' brand new single 'The Side', is taken from their forthcoming EP Ugly Apartments, which out in autumn 2015. Swoons' sound is an addictive blend of Luke's yearning vocals soaring above gripping riffs and heartfelt melodies, whilst Jamie and Ciaran's locked down rhythms create a strong and memorable foundation. SWooNS - thE SIdE Swoons are a hot-blooded trio of young urchins pumping out explosive song based indie rock anthems The 'Oh My Sweet Carolina' rocker will record a cover of Swift's hugely successful 1989 in full but in a more rock n roll style.
