7 17 Issue 79 / 2015 TECHNOLOGY guestlist.net The besT keyboard apps yemoji There are many rapper themed apps on the market – you'll recall we did a whole feature on them a few months back – so it's actually quite surprising to think that we lived in a time without a dedicated Kanye West keyboard app. Yeezy is certainly not shy about saying what he thinks, both in his raps and in his rants (see his 12-minute epic speech at the MTV VMAs, which covered Taylor Swift, leather t-shirts, the importance of ideas and running for president in 2020). He is also often accused of never smiling, as depicted by the "Sad Kanye" Tumblr, he does in fact communicate a lot with his face. Enter Yemoji, "THE GREATEST KEYBOARD OF ALL TIME". The emoji app we didn't know we need contains stickers of all his different facial expressions, so you can liven up your chats by throwing in a Ye or two. As developer Charles Polk said: "We think it's pretty fun but also a quick way to get across certain emotions and ideas that regular emojis just don't quite capture. Hope you enjoy it, ALL DAY." The app is currently only available on iOS so that means Android users have to wait a while before they are able to "express your inner Ye in every situation". Throwback to your school days with HangKeys, who are bring the classic Hangman game into the digital world with a dedicated keyboard. The premise of the game remains the same; you make a puzzle and send it to your friend via your messaging app of choice. If they guess wrong, a body part goes up in the message thread, if they guess right, the game continues. It's also possible to play in group chats so you can get all your mates involved. When your convo is dropping off or you need a way to break the ice, take it old school with a spot of Hangman. Ever since emojis came into our lives and forever changed the way we communicate, a standard keyboard just doesn't cut the mustard anymore. The app developers of the world have realised this and gifted us with tons of specialised keyboards, making our messaging that little bit better. Here are some of the best Taking it back to music, it's over to Kanye's BFF Taylor Swift and the Tay Text keyboard. If you're not feeling in a Ye kinda way, you can drop some of Swift's lyrics seamlessly into your convos. Created by five Harvard Business School "swiftes", who were inspired by the popular Drizzy app, Tay Text has eleven themes - Just Beginning, Into You, Over You, Missing You, It's Over, Trouble, Growing Up, Haters, Party On, Preach, and Random – with over 300 lyrics from 30 plus songs, so you're never short of something to day. Given Tay Tay's penchant for writing songs about relationships, this is definitely one to bust in your next Tinder chat. GiF keyboard The good people of Riffsy have created a keyboard that allows you to communicate solely in GIFs, because as we all know, sometimes words and emojis just won't do. With GIF Keyboard there are literally millions of GIFs available, some even have music, and they're separated into categories to ensure you'll be able to respond to any and every situation. You can customize your keyboard with the GIFs that you love the most and create collections so you have all your faves together in one place. And you can even save GIFs you find whilst surfing the net straight to your board. It's GIF heaven! hanGkeys Tay TexT
