Prior to his post at Nebraska, Er- sland, who wrestled at Iowa, coached the Cyclone Wrestling Club in Ames, Iowa. His familiarity with the Big Ten extends beyond his time at Nebraska. From 2000-2005, Ersland was the head assistant wrestling coach at Northwest- ern, and he also served as a coach and board member for the Wildcat Wres- tling Club. He was the head assistant wrestling coach at Northern Illinois in 1999 and 2000 after getting his start as a graduate assistant at Central Michigan from 1997 to 1999. "I'd like to thank Calvin Williams, Morgan Burke and the entire search committee that I dealt with during hiring process," Ersland said in the release. The women posted 89 points over- all, 52 more than last year and climbed seven spots in the standings. The junior capped it with a pair of titles, winning the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships at Purdue last weekend. The running back also helped the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams take second and fourth, respectively. In the 100, he started slowly but gained quickly, finishing in 10.30 seconds to edge the second-place sprinter by 0.15. In the 200, he ran 20.66 seconds, the fourth-best time in program history, moving ahead of fellow two-sport star Jacques Reeves in the re- cord book. It was the 29th-fastest time in the country this season. "I just want to thank the whole Purdue nation for the love and support for this weekend's track meet. It was truly an honor!" Mostert tweeted follow- ing the championships. Mostert was named the Big Ten Field Athlete-of-the-Championships, his second such award this season.
