That's a big- ger adjustment than one may think: Darrell Hazell frequently jokes about Bentley's quiet nature. But Purdue's middle linebacker is re- sponsible for identifying the offense's forma- tion and then relaying a call to the defensive line to set the front. "Mike (middle) linebacker is definitely a vocal position," Bentley said. "We preach on our defense, no matter what the position is, to communicate because even if you have a little mixup, if you talk yourself through it, everyone will be on one accord and that's what we want at the end of the day."
