GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 7 • 40 BY TRAVIS BAUGH TBaugh@Purdue.edu P urdue's run as the lone Big Ten team yet to lose a confer- ence match continued Wednesday night after a 25-22, 25- 21, 25-14 win over Indiana in Holloway Gymnasium. "I think it was probably our best night (of the season) of teamwork," said junior outside hitter Sam Epenesa, who led the Boilermakers with 14 kills. "Front row, back row, we re- ally worked well together and worked hard for the balls and made the plays we thought we really needed to make. "I thought that made it a lot harder for Indiana to come back. It feels really good to know that we kept the (Monon) Spike back at home." Wednesday's victory marks the first time since 1990 Purdue has won its first five Big Ten matches, and only the third time since 1983. The 15-2 start matches the 2011 and 2006 teams for the best under Coach Dave Shondell. Purdue will get a chance to extend its seven-match win- ning streak Saturday as it takes on Indiana for the second time in four days. The four-day span between matches against the Hoo- siers is the shortest stretch between games against the same opponent under Shondell and the least since the Boilermak- ers played Boston College back-to-back days in a tournament in 2000. Purdue won those matches 3-0 and 3-1. Purdue will hold a light practice and film session Thurs- day before taking Friday off and then playing the Hoosiers in BOILERS MATCH BEST BIG TEN START SINCE 1990 Purdue Azariah Stahl helped the Boilermakers dominate on the outside, as she had nine kills in the win over Indiana.
