With game time temperatures
at 42 and windy at 22 mph,
it was a cold day in Memorial
Stadium, especially for the
hometown fans.
Senior tight end Justin Sinz,
whose only catch went for 25
yards, was one of 10 receivers
Austin Appleby connected with,
not bad considering there were
only 15 completions in the con-
test. One went to the QB.
On his first carry from a one-week exile from the offense, Raheem
Mostert snapped off a nifty 44-yard touchdown run to put the
Boilermakers on the scoreboard. Mostert broke free for the last 20
yards and even had time to eye the video board as he made his way to
the south end zone. On the way to the bench, he got congratulations
from Coach Darrell Hazell. Purdue had four runs of more than 40 yards
for the first time in a Big Ten game since the turn of the century.
