Monetizing Kids Games: Should There Be Limits?
In 2014, Amazon and Apple both refunded tens of millions of dollars the FTC alleged
as unauthorized in-app purchases by children, while the UK introduced some of the
first required standards for children's in-app purchases. Has the tide now turned, with
protection growing for children using digital media, or must more be done to protect
and regulate the monetization of children?

Crowd Sharing: Crowd Funding and Sourcing in Games
Crowd sharing is the attempt to turn crowd funding into an ecosystem of development
where the crowd is sharing, not just funding and sourcing. Crowd sharing starts with
crowd funding, then adds the layer of crowd sourcing where the community can con-
tribute content to the game. The final step is an attempt to turn the entire process into
a loop.

Arcades Are Dead! Or Are They?

games and attractions will describe the reality of out-of-home gaming in the US and

Build First, Fund Later
Before, investors paid you to make the game of your dreams. Now, you have to make
a game before any hope of attracting the investment to pay for it. So, you have to be
great at creating game prototypes quickly and cheaply, and finding sources of user
acquisition that are efficient and unique. This session will describe this industry evolu-
tion and share tips on these two core skills.
