Danny Anthrop reported to have felt good throughout training camp, coming off that surgerically repaired right knee, and that's huge news. Anthrop appeared largely smooth, fast and able to cut like before the injury. His presence in the slot is vital for Purdue's offense to move, with an ability to not only catch balls against man or zone coverage but for a unique second-gear after the catch. He's the playmaker, and he needs to hold up. For as much doubting as Jordan Roos has endured the past two seasons — he can't play 70 snaps, he isn't flexible enough — the junior always had an overwhelming response. His offseason was perhaps as good as anyone's, transforming his body through yoga, diet changes and slimming down. But, he still looks like the "mauler" in run blocking he was last season. Roos will pancake guys. He just needs to hold up better in pass protection, and that'll solidify the middle of the line as legit. After being overwhelmed at points last season, forced into action as a true freshman, Gregory Phillips enters this season much more confident. He understands the offense better, used the offseason to get stronger to be able to combat press man coverage and put an emphasis on attacking the ball in the air. Each stride made Phillips a formidable outside combination with the back- to-freshman-form DeAngelo Yancey. Wide Receiver 1. Danny Anthrop 33 6-0, 186, Sr. 2.
