VOLUME 26, ISSUE 1 41
Ricardo Allen - Atlanta Falcons
Ricardo Allen spent all last season on the Falcons' practice
squad, having the less-than-favorable distinction of being
the highest drafted player in 2014 not to make a 53-man
roster as a rookie. Well, Allen can forget all that now. The
second-year DB has moved from cornerback to free safety,
where he's been with Atlanta's first-team defense during
training camp. He's trying to model himself after Seattle All-
Pro Earl Thomas, a similarly smaller-statured safety who isn't
afraid to get his nose dirty.
Ryan Kerrigan -
Washington Redskins
Ryan Kerrigan never expect-
ed to be the face of a fran-
chise. But he's one of them
now for the Washington
Redskins, particularly after
signing a five-year contract
extension worth $11.5 mil-
lion annually with a $16-mil-
lion signing bonus. Kerrig-
an's proven to be worth the
deal, rarely missing time
in his first four years while
becoming one of the league's
most productive outside
linebackers. He has 38 sacks
in his career, including 13.5
last season, with a couple
picks and nearly 250 tackles.
