Burke knows TV money can help
move things along quickly and the
Big Ten is within a couple of years
of upgrading its television contracts.
But, he also knows that it will take
commitment from donors.
"We haven't had a capital cam-
paign since the aquatics center in
the late 1990s," Burke said. "Yet I
know the speed that things improve
on the football field will determine
how fast this can get done. We
know that.
"I like the visual of an accordion
(in terms of improving Purdue's
football facilities). We get hot —
bam — the things that seem like a
large gap can come together quickly.
If not, we'll have a very logical, se-
quential plan (to move football for-
ward)."
