20 ISSUE 98 / 2017 FESTIVALS The countdown is now on since the AVA family revealed the full weekend line-up, plus day splits across Friday and Saturday. The festival runs from 2nd – 3rd June and is located in a wicked warehouse venue in the Titanic Quarter, Belfast. With a heavy set of global names including Jeff Mills, Marcel Dettmann, Ben UFO and Boiler Room just for starters and a supersonic set of Irish champions; Bicep, Ejeca, Jordan and New Jackson, plus the all-important conference elements, AVA is shaking up the Irish game. Festival guests will also be treated to pioneering production, with visual arts from world-renowned lighting designer Guillaume Marmin, Belfast's own Guerrilla Shout, lasers and light shows. Jeff Mills and Guillaume Marmin will headline the evening events, with a UK debut of their 'Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind' show, a full sensory experience that explores the sensation of existing in another reality. For those travelling to Belfast for the weekend, it's the perfect chance to experience the Belfast craic, exploring the city whilst getting to know the local names changing the local game. Belfast's pioneering dance festival returns for its third edition expanding from a one day event into two! YOU GOTTA LOVEBOX IT THIS SUMMER! Clear the diary, forget that dentist appointment, and you can definitely forget about that lunch date with your parents, you are going to need that time to prepare for the hottest festival of the year, LOVEBOX 2017! The weekend of Friday 14th to Saturday 15th July will be playing host to the best of electronic, rap and pop music in East London's very own, Victoria Park. As Lovebox is now in its 15th anniversary, the festival promises a particularly special line-up to celebrate 15 years of music, 15 years of good vibes and 15 years of love. Headlining on the Friday is the mulit-talented singer, songwriter and rapper, Frank Ocean whilst Saturdays headliner is none other than the electrifying, Chase and Status. Other great guests on the main stage include the spectacular Jamie- XX along with the runner-up for BBC's sound of 2017, Rag n' Bone Man. Artists such as Mick Jenkins and Ray BLK can be found strutting their stuff on the Noisey Stage. Whilst Annie Mac, Jazzy Jeff and Horse Meat Disco are just a small selection of the rest of the amazing artists that can be found performing at the festival. This is sure to be a unmissable weekend.
