Coming off the back of the hugely popular EP Collapse he made with Danny Serano Frankfurt, Alexander Aurel is back with a fresh new EP. His latest EP Fall in Love, represents Aurel's bubbly style of music well, with the track 'Go To Sleep' being a great example of this. Punctuated with synths layered seamlessly and upbeat techno beats, it is enough to get anyone dancing. Whilst the title track 'Fall In Love' is the absolute banger of the EP. With its groove and funk influences, it makes for a refreshing change and with the vocals reminiscent of Faithless and Fatboy Slim it's very hard not to get up and dance. This is a EP for the optimist and the hopeful, that's what makes it standout. Even with the menacing baseline and the distorted vocals heard throughout the tracks. Alexander's reputation is surely going to grow after this record drops, and for good reason too! NEW RELEASES The London born, Berlin based techno DJ caused offence after playing a track that featured the Muslim call to prayer. Parisian Electronic Pop artist Claude Violante has just dropped the track 'Do That Thing' from her latest EP Road Race. The techno DJ could face jail time in Tunisia after video footage emerged of him playing a record that had sampled the Muslim call to prayer at the El Guitone club, as part of Orbit Festival. Once the local authorities saw the footage the venue was shut down and the manager detained. Charges against the clubs manager have now been dropped, though Dax J has been charged with public indecency and offending public morality by a Tunisian court. That means Dax faces a year in prison, though the time won't be served as the DJ managed to get out of the country before the court hearing. Dax J has since apologised, saying "it was never my intention to upset or cause offence to anybody". The organisers of Orbit Festival also apologised also, in a post on their Facebook page - though accepted no responsibility for playing offensive music. The soul influence is the defining feature of this track and it highlights Claude's ability to hit those high notes. The track does this simple thing well, in a world where to many artists are overcomplicating. Great songs know their strengths and 'Do That Thing' is carried by the immense vocals of Violante, and with a smooth contemporary beat acting as a great undertone, it is bound to be on constant repeat on your summer playlist this year.
