Safety Taylor Richards called himself a "film rat" who
spends at least an hour a day watching something. De-
pending on the time of year, he could go back and watch a
full game, could be practice footage to critique technique,
could be other teams' schemes or players. He's not worried
about how much time he spends, but the effort that's spent
during that time.
He does it to better himself, sure, but it's bigger than
that.
"I don't look at it as a number because you never know
what the next person is doing," Richards said. "I can't see
what the guys in Bloomington or the guys in Ann Arbor are
doing right now. So it's not a number. It's pushing yourself
to the max and being able to look at yourself in the mirror
and know that you gave everything you had from this day
to the next day."
It's that kind of attitude that needs to permeate Purdue's
locker room.
Coming off a 1-11 season, there may be a perception
the Boilermakers need to do more work, or perhaps more
efficient work.
