In addition, 18 seniors were presented by advisor
Cathy Wright-Eger with certification for having com-
pleted the work necessary for certification though
the John R. Wooden Leadership Institute. It is the
fourth class to do so.
Twenty-three athletes were honored with the Dis-
tinguished Scholar-Athlete Award.
Big Ten Medal of Honor recipients were Casey
Matthews and Matt Friede.

Myrwyn "Red" Anderson was one of several Big Ten Medal
of Honor recipients who returned to campus to commemorate
the 100th year of the award. Anderson, who was interviewed
by Bogdanova, told the athletes, "You will remember the day
you win this award the rest of your life." Anderson has lived
a distinguished 92 years and made the trip from Sanibel
Island, Fla. Diver Casey Matthews and swimmer Matt Friede
were this year's winners.

Men's basketball player Rapheal Davis, like most in atten-
dance, cast his vote via text message. The results were
compiled back stage on a computer.
