GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 23 • 24 from Indianapolis running back Gerrid Doaks and quarterback Jimmy Seewald. Doaks is one of the top play- ers in a loaded class of running backs in Indiana this year. The Lawrence Central back has offers from Indiana, Miami (Ohio), Ball State, Toledo and Western Michigan. Seewald is a 6-foot-5, 210-pound quarterback from Di- vine Child High School in Dear- born, Mich. After visiting Purdue Saturday morning, he spent the afternoon at Illinois. It remains to be seen wheth- er or not the Boilermakers will re- cruit a QB in a 2016 class for which scholarships will be limited. Purdue will have numerous unofficial visitors on campus this weekend for the first of its three junior day events Saturday. Its other two junior days will be March 28 and April 7. RECRUITING NOTEBOOK R The book is now closed on Purdue defensive end com- mitment Chazmyn Turner, who will not be signing with the Boil- ermakers, according to a source. West Virginia offered Turner a scholarship and opened his recruitment prior to the signing date, but there's been no indica- tion yet where the Mooresville, N.C., native is heading. R Purdue is expected to continue recruiting for the Class of 2015 this spring, with an em- phasis on tight end, wide receiv- er and defensive end. Last year, the Boilermakers added offensive tackle David Hedelin weeks after signing day. BASKETBALL RECRUIT TRACKER S Signee Ryan Cline scored 21 points in Carmel's regular- season finale, a 39-37 win over Brebeuf.
