Jon Octeus has delivered on the energy front for Purdue, including making a
remarkable behind-the-back save off an offensive rebound scramble that led
directly to a basket by Rapheal Davis. The hoop gave Purdue its only lead of the
second half, 30-29, but Maryland took it back on the next possession and never
relinquished it.
Terrapins Rush Boilermakers In Mackey
Maryland good enough to keep Purdue at bay

For the second time in the week — but just the third time this season
— an opponent had more blocks in a game than Purdue. Freshman Vince
Edwards got thwarted on his way to the basket by a pair of Maryland
defenders, most notably Jon Graham.
Junior center A.J. Hammons drew his share of attention inside as the rangy
Maryland defenders caused the Boilermakers problems. Foul problems plagued
Hammons and fellow pivotman Haas as the duo was limited to just 12 points and 13
rebounds in 35 minutes.
Isaac Haas committed three quick fouls in the second half against the Terrapins,
which put him on the bench for much of the second half.
