Kite Power Solutions is the company behind the idea, believing that this technology will lower the current costs of wind turbines and provide developing countries with the ability to move away from carbon centred- energy resources. The process involves hooking up two giant kites, each moving in a future of eight. Whilst one descends the other will rise, creating a constant generation of energy. One kWh of wind power is estimated to cost 10 euro cents by 2022 and with current sources costing 5.5 euro cents, the difference would have to be subsidised by increasingly under pressure governments, being pushed towards greener alternatives. Kite power would save vast amounts of money, with the cost mirroring these current levels. There is also the ability for kites to be stationed anywhere (including out at sea) giving more of a global reach and to latch on to stronger winds at higher altitudes. With the first UK power plant opening in 2017, we think this is one future environmental solution which really has the potential to really take off! GUESTLIST 2016 / ISSUE 92 17 TECHNOLOGY This symbol of youth could well be the key to building a more sustainable future in terms of energy consumption and saving governments money in the future. It could be the answer to every woman's prayers - the cannabis tampon. It could be the answer to every woman's prayers - the cannabis tampon. Some genius in the States has come up with the idea of putting THC and CBD (those compounds that make our nerves and muscles chill out and become hostile to pain) into the old faithful tampon. So far the products, that have been created by Foria, have been well received and the most hardcore of cramps have been reported to have disappeared. From all the ladies in the house at Guestlist, we have to give one giant thumbs up and severely hope that they make their way to the UK soon! (in the next month would be good...)
