Another blow for the people of Syria after aid lorries were destroyed. Aid convey lorries carrying vital supplies for citizens trapped by the on-going Syrian civil war, were attacked by warplanes on September 19th. The lorries, all with proper permits and prior notifications given to all warring parties, were shot at just outside the city of Aleppo. 18 of the 31 Red Crescent fleet were destroyed along with their cargo that included medical gear, winter clothes and food. It's also reported that a number of civilians were also killed in the blasts. Jens Laerke, the UN humanitarian aid spokesman said 'As an immediate security measure, other convoy movements in Syria have been suspended for the time being'. The strike has been described as a flagrant violation of international law, happening at the end of a week long ceasefire that was brokered by the US & Russia. The truce was already under pressure after several violations. The US expressed 'outrage' over the attack, with a US State Department statement saying 'We don't know at this point whether it was the Russians or the regime. In either case, the Russians have the responsibility certainly to restrain - refrain from taking such action themselves, but they also have the responsibility to keep the regime from doing it'. It's another big blow to the desperate people of Syria, international leaders must come up with a solution and fast as this war just keeps dragging on, there isn't an easy solution. 2016 / ISSUE 92 5 The news reporter headed to the Tory Party conference in Birmingham with a blank cheque. It was addressed to the NHS for £350million, unsurprisingly none of the Brexiteers were keen to sign it. The Republican presidential candidate had his campaign rocked after a video of him bragging "grabbing pussy" surfaced. Following the video allegations of sexual assault from several women were made. The London councillor is again spending the Tory conference sleeping in his car, refusing to pay 'sky-high' hotel prices. In this age of austerity it is sensible to camp in his car he says. After winning his second leadership bid, with more votes than last time, Corbyn got straight on with opposing the Tories. He gave PM May a serious grilling over the terms of Brexit. The US mayor has resigned after racist posts surfaced on his Facebook page, including one that depicted Barack Obama and his family as apes. He claimed he was the victim of a witch-hunt.
