P H O T O S Y E A R I N All eyes were on Ross-Ade Stadium when the Boilermakers played host to intrastate rival Notre Dame in prime time on a splendid Sept. 14 evening. Purdue took over downtown Indianapolis for the inaugural Tailgate on the Circle event at Monument Circle the day before the season opener at Cincinnati. Thousands of Boilermaker fans, students and alumni rallied to support the football team under popular first-year head coach Darrell Hazell. Men's basketball defeated Indiana 82-64 in Mackey Arena on Feb. 15, helping Purdue capture the Governor's Cup – the all-sports competition with the Hoosiers – for the first time since 2006-07. The volleyball team advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, topping undefeated Missouri on the road along the way. Matthew McClintock was runner-up at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships in West Lafayette and a first team All-American, the Boilermakers' first since 1987.
