The Black Lives Matter UK movement were behind the protest, that saw nine demonstrators erecting a tripod and locking themselves to it in the middle of the airstrip. They wanted to highlight the UK's environmental impact on black people both locally and internationally. The Met Police were called to the scene at around 5.40am after the protesters gained access airside in what's believed to be via the Thames. The highest numbers of death occured in Amatrice. Lots of historical and old buildings were destroyed. As the mayor said on Wednesday: "This village is not here, anymore". The death toll could climb again, and there are still people trapped under the mounds of bricks and stone. The rescue mission is still working to help the maximum number of people. The first three and four days are crucial in order to save people trapped in the Dante's Inferno scenario. In these tense moments, there is always a great sense of solidarity and Italian people are donating clothes, food, toys and money in order to try to restore a normal life to the victims that are now suddendly homeless.
