GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 6 • 33 want to say anything that's going to get another uppercut to the jaw." END OF CAREER After stepping wrong dur- ing Thursday's practice last week, Joe Gilliam ran off the field and thought he was OK. Turns out, he wasn't. After his knee "blew up" on Friday, Gilliam had an MRI. It re- vealed a torn ACL. The injury not only ends Giliam's season but his career. "It's unfortunate for him and us," Hazell said. Gilliam entered the season with 22 career starts but had only one in 2014 and played limited snaps in the first five weeks. MIXING UP OFFENSE Purdue needs more offensive playmakers, so it will turn to a pair of players who've shown an ability to make big plays. After not play- ing a snap on of- fense against Iowa, running back Ra- heem Mostert will be back in the mix, Hazell said this week. Receiver B.J. Knauf, who has played only 23 snaps the last two weeks, will be get- ting more reps, too. "We're going to have to have somebody step up and make a play. That's the step we need to take as a football program," ON TAP SATURDAY Game Time (ET) TV Line PURDUE at Illinois Noon ESPN2 Illinois -10 No. 20 Ohio State at Maryland Noon ABC OSU -8.5 North Texas at Indiana 2:30 p.m. BTN IU -14 No. 17 Wisconsin at Northwestern 3:30 p.m. ESPN2 Wisconsin -9 Michigan at Rutgers 7 p.m. BTN Rutgers -3 No. 19 Nebraska at No. 10 Michigan State 8 p.m. ABC MSU -7.5 All times ET BYE: Iowa, Minnesota, Penn State Source: DannySheridan.com BIG TEN STANDINGS EAST DIVISION Big Ten/Pct.
