Having been given clear- ance to resume playing again in April, Kiesler was on the court for All-Star and AAU games during the summer. And she could focus again on where she wanted to attend college, with Purdue, Kan- sas, Michigan State, Stanford and Louisville being among the top op- tions. But Kiesler decided on a school before she thought she would. With Purdue the first of three scheduled official visits, Kiesler thought she'd visit West Lafayette before heading to Michigan State and Kansas. But in late September, while she was at Purdue, those plans changed. Instead, Kiesler verballed to Coach Sharon Versyp before leaving on that Sunday morning, Sept. 29. "I thought I would go on those two (visits) and then make a decision," Kiesler said of MSU and KU, "but after being on (Purdue's) campus and around the girls, some- thing just felt right and there was no need for me to look anywhere else. "I always wanted to go to a school that has a great ac- ademic program as well as basketball. And Purdue fit that mold. And that weekend, I got to meet the girls and just realized how great their program is and how much I can grow, not only as a basketball player but as an overall per- son with Coach Versyp and that staff."
