When you are 7-foot tall, with a world of potential, the burden can be heavy on your shoulders. Yet, Hammons doesn't have to do it alone this year. As Brian Neubert suggests in his feature on the Boilermaker junior on Pages 10-11, Hammons has been a bit of a loner. Hammons is the centerpiece for the Boilermakers, as they look to rebound after two poor seasons. As the image shows, Purdue has a more focused and trimmed-down Hammons, raising expectations for a breakthrough season. Whether that happens will tell the tale of the 2014-15 campaign.
