ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 25, ISSUE 2 57 f CLASS OF 2016 Scholarship availability is limited in 2016 and depen- dent in large part on 2015, but Purdue has targeted several juniors of all positions. Two of its longest-standing targets are centers Barret Benson and Joey Brunk of Chicagoland and Indianapolis, respectively. Benson, a Purdue legacy, has been offered by Indiana, Kansas State, Nebraska, Northwestern, DePaul and others. Brunk has Michigan State, IU, Xavier and sev- eral more, in addition to Purdue. Top-100-ranked Ohio forwards Nick Ward and Seth Towns each hold Purdue offers and have made visits this fall, while the backcourt remains an emphasis also. Purdue has an offer out to Indianapolis Arsenal Tech point guard C.J. Walker and would seem like a very strong contender for him. Butler and Cincinnati are among his other offers, with Xavier and Florida among those inter- ested. Purdue is intent to land a 2-guard in that class. Indianapolis' Kyle Guy's sudden commitment to Virginia recently left two "live" targets — among those offered to this point — on Purdue's board: Ohio's Jarron Cumber- land and Kentucky's Eli Wright. Cumberland is ranked 63rd nationally by Rivals.com, though Purdue remains the high-scoring guard's only of- fer. That'll change soon. Wright has offers from Indiana, Tennessee, Mississippi State and a several others. CLASS OF 2017 Looking way out into the future, Indianapolis is loaded with high-level talent that Purdue will recruit. Most notably, forward Kris Wilkes (North Cen- tral) and guard Paul Scruggs (Southport) are two of the highest-regarded prospects in their classes na- tionally. Both have Purdue offers and will have the chance to write their tickets anywhere they want to go when the time comes. Jaren Jackson Jr., a 6-8-and-growing forward/ center from Park Tudor, has the makings of a very highly coveted player, too. Purdue extended the NBA legacy his first major offer during a visit this fall. Dynamic Pike sophomore point guard Justin Roberts is also a prominent name on Purdue's ra- dar, though he's not been offered yet. At its elite camp this summer, Purdue offered a few out-of-state 2017 prospects likely to become national recruits: Chicago guard Nojel Eastern and Michigan for- ward Xavier Tillman. j 1600 South Creasy Lane Lafayette, IN 47905 1-866-906-6223 www.BobRohrmanSubaru.com Bob Rohrman Subaru Buy a Subaru and Keep Indiana Driving.
