The Louisville native stuck around Purdue in May, a time she'd usually go home to get a postseason break, and got a 3.5 GPA in her summer classes. She took a mission trip to Haiti, where she saw others who didn't have nearly the same opportunities. And she strengthened her faith in God, feeling like He had a plan for her in a second chance at Purdue. "She has changed night and day," Coach Sharon Versyp said. "(She was) probably always this person, but was probably a little lost, like most kids. She's wanting to lead, (and she has) never wanted that before. (She's) really working, loving where she's at, loving Purdue, loving basketball, she has done so much extra work. She is in the best shape of her life and really wants to run the team. It has been wonder- ful. Yet, she needs to keep that mentality no matter how good things are or how bad things are." The incident spurred the change. Wilson doesn't want to discuss the details about the arrest — it's understandable, considering her desire to move on — but she admits that she let "emotion" get the best of her. "I got a little crazy," she said. "… I just did some things that I shouldn't have been doing." But she is paying the price for the actions. Wilson accepted a diver- sionary agreement with the Tippe- canoe County Courts, likely com- munity service, and has a signed contract with Versyp that includes a two-game suspension, a curfew and a vow not to screw up again. But that's not the worst of it. There's the picture, of course, but also having to face her parents, who drove up to West Lafayette the day she was let out of jail.
