ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 25, ISSUE 2 77 f BIGGER ROLE Bays likes to think her game is versatile with an ability to score on the block as well as stick mid-range jumpers, even put the ball on the floor occasionally and get to the rim. It's possible she'll get to extend her perimeter game to beyond the three-point arc this season, too. After shooting only two three-pointers — and missing both — last season, she jokingly said she has a "yellow" light until she proves she can stick the shot consis- tently. But coaches said it will be part of Purdue's offense, using Bays as a pick-and-pop option on the wings or as a trailing big similar to the opportunities former post Drey Mingo had. Expanding her game would make Bays harder to de- fend, and bringing her game away from the basket will make it tougher to double-team, too, which likely will be an issue now that she's established as one of the league's better players. She also offers production from a non-offensive-con- trolled perspective as a tenacious rebounder — she had 77 offensive boards last season. 765.447.4165 | www.lafayetteortho.com The Area's Premier Orthopaedic and Sportsmedicine Center Robert J.
