You also will like what you read in Stacy Clardie's and Kyle Charters' features on Whitney Bays and April Wilson, respectively. Bays has been through the heartache of numerous injuries but is poised to have her best season yet. She also has the swagger of a big-time player, something she knows a little about with her pedi- gree. Wilson's willingness to own her off-court legal issue is a net positive, not only for the junior point guard, but her team. Yet, you can sense her embarrassment when reading the ar- ticle, which makes it very real. Finally, Clardie's story on Austin Appleby ties together the attributes it takes to be successful as a major college student-athlete. Now, I am not crowning Appleby as the next Drew Brees just yet, but you have to admire a guy that waited patiently for his chance, not by sitting back, but by doing all the little things to be successful when and if his chance ever arrived. It will be consistent, successful delivery of doing the little things right that will determine if Ham- mons, Davis, Stephens, Bays, Wil- son and Appleby have success in the arena. But I sense with all of them, it will be engaging and interesting to see if they can pull it off.
