ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 25, ISSUE 2 83 f foot range, you have got to do that exceptionally well. I don't care about the threes, those come and go, but just being the best rebounder, she did it in spurts, but she needs to do it consistently. Being a vocal leader, and now just understanding what we do and she does and putting it in a game." Gold and Black: Horrocks will probably play a lot for you. Is she more of a defensive presence inside right now? Versyp: "Both. Right now, today, she is our best shooter. Whitney will get going, but she is our best shooter right now, even from the 15-foot (range). She is going to score and defend. "If she can get double-doubles, I will be very happy, (with) 10 points, 10 boards. She should be rebound- ing. If you're 6-4, you should be pursuing the ball, she's pretty athletic, she has great hands. Solid. She knows where to move, so people will get her the ball. The physicality is what will be different, even though she is big and got stronger, game time is a lot differ- ent. But we really like what we see." Gold and Black: And for Haley, is she still on schedule for Big Ten? Versyp: "Nov. 1 is when she can start doing things (in practice). From my perspective, if she can play mid-December, that would be great, get a cou- ple games under her belt. If she could play the three games prior to Christmas, that would be fantastic, go- ing into the Big Ten. "We need her body, her physicality. She's a great shot-blocker. She has an unorthodox hook shot, right hand, left hand. We want it to progress well." Gold and Black: Wilson raves about Andreona Keys. Do you? Versyp: "I do, too. She is like a bulldog. She is ag- gressive, physical. When she takes it to the hole, she is knocking down three people on the way. She doesn't mind contact. Most kids mind contact. She does not. She is going. She can shoot the three, beautiful pull- up jumper. She is shooting better than I thought she would be at this point. She and Bree understand the game very well, very cerebral. That is a huge advan- tage. She is going to run through the wall for you." j Tom Campbell Versyp is looking for guard Hayden Hamby to "step up at every level" in her junior season.
