two games.
Nebraska may have the best
running game in college football.
So clearly if something doesn't
change dramatically on defense
coming out of a bye week, the
Boilermakers' 3:30 p.m. Saturday
game at No. 17 Nebraska may not
go very well.
In its first trip to Lincoln,
Purdue will be charged with stop
-
ping — slowing might be a more
reasonable hope — senior Ameer
Abdullah.
In games that have mattered
this season, only Michigan State
has done so.
Abdullah leads the nation with
1,249 rushing yards. He's coming
off a 225-yard game against Rut-
gers, his fourth 200-plus-yard game
of the season.
In a league that accounts for
nearly half the nation's top-10 rush-
ing leaders, Abdullah stands out.
"I would say Ameer Abdullah
is the best running back in the con-
ference," said Sean Callahan, who
covers Nebraska for Rivals.com's
HuskerOnline.com. "There are four
or five good ones right now, but
I think that he is the best one be-
cause he tends to make guys miss
not only on the second level, but
the third level. Plays that shouldn't
go for any yards, he still gets three
